Playing with Airbrush: The Basics with Michelle Devereux
Yes, that’s right, as in that Alien-head trucker-hat you got at the mall in the '90s, or that beach sunset tee-shirt with your name on it you begged your mom to get you at the State Fair, or those portraits of a truck painted on the tailgate of the same truck. If you have ever been intrigued by this pop art phenomenon, considered throwing a galaxy on your favorite denim jacket, or even just wanted to add a splash of color to your favorite tee-shirt, this workshop is where you would start.
Participants will learn the basic how-tos of an airbrush, in addition to hands-on experimentation with gradients, dots, lines, and stencils -- all of which are the foundation that make up all great airbrush art over a wide variety of media and applications. In addition to a small booklet of instructions to take home, participants will have an opportunity to airbrush their own shirt using stencils and/or embellish a pre-silkscreened image designed by Michelle Devereux, specifically for Trans-Pecos. Blank bandanas will also be available to practice on. All supplies and equipment will be provided.
